I was thankful to be part of Donors Forum's event for two key reasons: my love of Chicago and appreciation around this discussion of community engagement and the opportunity to visually represent the group of members and the group of partners together in one map. As a graphic faciltator, I'm always the outsider, the "public listener" who gets to integrate all the presentations and feedback into a single image. I get to make that cliche come true, I help people all get on the same page. This evening, I knew the basic shape of the evening—welcome, Peter speaking, three great examples of civic engagement, reporting from the table conversation and Bruce's call to action. I gave myself spaces on my drawing for each, so we could remember the event all in one image.
